General Radiology and Fluoroscopy Exams


All general X-Ray exams will be performed on a walk-in basis.

Arthrograms:  Ankle, Knee, Hip, Shoulder, Elbow, or Wrist Allow 1 hour for exam If taking aspirin or other medications daily, you may need to stop taking some of these medications before the exam.
Barium Enema Allow 1 hour for exam Use EZ-EM prep kit 24 hours prior to exam. Kits are provided free of charge from The Imaging Center
Myelogram Allow 1 hour for exam Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Arrange for a driver to and from the center. Plan to remain at the facility for a 4 hour recovery period.
Intravenous Pyelogram (IVP) Allow 1 hour for exam Nothing to eat or drink after midnight on the night before your exam. Patient should drink an 8 oz glass of water 1 hour prior to exam time.
Barium Swallow/Esophagram Allow 30 minutes for exam No preparation is required.
Sialogram Allow 1 hour for exam No preparation is required.
Small Bowel Series Allow 30 minutes for exam Nothing to eat or drink after midnight on the night before your exam.
Upper GI Series Allow 30 minutes for exam Nothing to eat or drink after midnight on the night before your exam.
