The Imaging Center has completed the installation of a new Magnetic resonance Imaging System.  The new unit will provide faster patient exams, exemplary image quality for clearer diagnosis and a patient-friendly design.

The MAGNETOM Symphony, by Siemens, works to enhance the patients experience
through three main strategies:

1. The MAGNETOM Symphony automates all imaging processes, making them faster and simpler. The scanners can detect movement during image acquisition and make instant corrections, eliminating additional exams and facilitating faster diagnosis.
2.The new integrated Panoramic Array coil concept IPA is designed to keep examination times to a minimum while maximizing patient comfort. The system can be used to perform a wide array of clinical applications, including neurology, angiography, spectroscopy, orthopedic and cardiac examinations.
3. The Symphony is uniquely designed to increase patient comfort. With this new Siemens MR system, coils only need to be positioned once during the examination.
This speeds up the whole procedure, providing higher patient comfort and short exam times. The rest is done automatically for reliable, high quality diagnostic results.

This new MRI will allow The Imaging Center to perform a number of additional procedures. Such procedures include: 

MRI of the Abdomen with and without contrast
MRA of the Carotid Arteries
MRA of the Brain
MRI of the Breast
